DawnXCynthia-Dawns Birthday

After about a few days Cynthia's ankle felt a bit better,but still hurt if she put to much pressure on it. Cynthia woke up extra early and she slowly walked to the lake near Dawns town. Cynthia sat down in the grass and watched the beautiful lake and she went into deep thought. '...how do I really feel about Dawn...?," she thought to herself. '...I'm a pedophile for liking her...lately I feel as if the spark between us...has become lighter..' Cynthia quickly shook away those negative thoughts. Today was Dawn's 17th birthday,and Cynthia was determined to make it a night that Dawn would never forget.

Cynthia heard footsteps coming towards her,when she looked up,she saw her childhood friend and elite four member,Caitlin. "Im amazed that you were able to drag yourself out of bed,"Cynthia teasingly said. "oh very funny~," Caitlin said as she yawned. "what are you doing here,Caitlin?" "I like to take naps here,it's peaceful and not many people can bother me here." Caitlin sat down beside Cynthia and rested her head on Cynthia's lap. "Caitlin?" "Sorry,I'm just gonna borrow your lap for a bit.." Caitlin drifted off to sleep. Cynthia's face turned red. Cynthia hesitated for a moment,but then she ran her fingers through Caitlin's hair. 'she hasn't changed a bit since we were younger'. Cynthia smiled as she recalled the memories that they had both shared together while growing up.
  There was something about being with Caitlin that made Cynthia feel odd,but she wasn't so sure why. She looked at Caitlin for a spilt second and then turned her eyes back at the lake. 'why does my face feel..so hot..what's with this weird feeling inside of my body when I'm around Caitlin?'. Cynthia stared at Caitlin's sleeping doll like face,and then she sighed. The thought of falling out of love with Dawn made Cynthia upset,she loves Dawn deeply but she isn't so sure what Dawn thinks of her. She wasn't even sure why she felt so odd being around Caitlin since she's never felt awkward around her before. Cynthia placed Caitlin gently onto the grass,and walked slowly back to Dawn's house.
  When Cynthia opened the front door, she saw Ash talking with Dawn. They were laughing and enjoying each other's company. When Dawn noticed Cynthia was in the room,she looked up. "Oh,good morning,Cynthia," she said casually. "Good morning,happy birthday,uh hi,Ash" Ash smirked. "Morning,I'm gonna beat you and take your place as Champion,Cynthia!," Ash said enthusiastically. Cynthia frowned. "um..Cynthia! Your here way to early,the party doesn't start until six at night," Dawn said nervously. "Sorry,I just wanted to say happy birthday,that's all." The Champion felt a bit of pain in her chest,and she knew what that pain was. Jealousy. She disliked the fact that Dawn enjoyed Ash's company,likewise for him as well. "I'm just gonna leave,sorry for intruding." Cynthia shut the door and went home.
  She hid under her covers and wished that Dawn was away from Ash. Although Dawn had previously said that she has no romantic interest in Ash,she somehow felt as if that were a lie. She knew that Ash could steal Dawn from her,if he had the thought of doing so. In a few hours,she would have to get out of bed and go to Dawn's party near the beach.
  Several hours past and it was almost time to go to Dawn's party. Cynthia tied her hair back into a ponytail and put on a black tank top that revealed her stomach and black shorts. When she arrived at the party,she was in awe as she saw Dawn in a beautiful short pink dress,and her hair styled with curls. Dawn smiled at Cynthia,then she turned back to Ash. Cynthia's smile quickly faded. She sat down at a table by herself,until Caitlin sat in the seat across from her. "ah,Caitlin," Cynthia surprisingly  said. "surprised I'm here?," Caitlin asked. "Yeah,it's not you like you to show up at party's,you usually stay in your bed in your elite four room." Caitlin shrugged. She popped a ball of chocolate into her mouth and chewed it slowly. The Pok'mon news team pointed their camera at them. "Well if it isn't the elite Champion Cynthia and elite four member,Caitlin!,now what are the two of you doing here at this party?" Caitlin didn't bother saying anything. Cynthia smiled and told them that they were just passing by and joined in the celebration as special guests.
  About two hours later,Cynthia was about to leave,but that's when Ash got up from his table and asked for everyone's attention. "I have an announcement," He said. Ash turned towards Dawn as she got up from the table. He smiled at her. "I would like to congratulate Dawn on her birthday,and confess my feelings towards her,in front of everyone. The camera crew pointed their cameras at Ash and Dawn. "I have been in love with Dawn,since our journey had ended,I couldn't stand being apart from her. That is why..I would like to ask,would you be my girlfriend?" Cynthia and Dawns eyes quickly widened. The crowd cheered and waited for Dawns response. Cynthia couldn't believe what she had just heard,and that's when Ash crossed the line. He pulled Dawn in close to him,and kissed her. So much pain was in Cynthia's heart,she quickly turned around and ran towards the lake near Dawn's house,despite the pain that was on her ankle. What she didn't witness though,was when Dawn pushed Ash away,stared at the camera's and announced that she already had someone whom she loves deeply. Dawn slipped away from her party and went after Cynthia.
  Cynthia dropped down onto the grass and curled up into a ball while her tears ran down her face. Caitlin quietly walked up to Cynthia and sat down next to her. "Why are you crying?," Caitlin quietly asked. Cynthia hesitated with her words,but then she spoke. "I just found out that the person that I like...has someone that likes them,and it's obvious that they have feelings toward that someone.." Caitlin gently petted Cynthia's head. Dawn found Cynthia and Caitlin,but she hid behind some trees and listened to their conversation. "Its alright..that person has to be an idiot to not love you.." "At times I feel as if that person doesn't feel the same way as me...especially after the person that likes them appeared.." Caitlin had Cynthia sit up towards her. "you should wear a ponytail more often,it suits you and shows off your cute face.She wiped the tears from the Champions eyes. That's when Caitlin kissed her. Dawn and Cynthia's eyes quickly widened. When Caitlin parted from the kiss,she said,"I love you,Cynthia..I always have."
  This was Certainly a night that neither Cynthia nor Dawn,would ever be able to forget.
